Nanna's Scones

It's no secret that I'm a terrible cook. If there's a meme about burning something in the kitchen you can bet I've been tagged in it! My Nanna's scones tho, they always come out perfect every single time!

Get yourself some jam and cream and treat yourself to a devonshire tea this weekend!

  • 2 cups SR Flour

  • pinch of salt

  • 60g soft butter

  • 3/4 cup of milk

  1. Sift flour into bowl and add salt

  2. Cut butter into pieces and add to flour

  3. Gently rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips until it resembles fine breadcrumbs

  4. Make a well in the middle and add milk

  5. Using the back of a butter knife gently mix into a soft dough

  6. Turn out onto a lightly floured board or bench and gently kneed

  7. Roll dough to approx 2cm thick and cut into rounds using a glass or scone cutter

  8. Place onto a floured baking tray into a pyramid

  9. Brush lightly with milk and bake for 10-12min until golden

  10. Wrap in a clean teatowel to cool slightly

  11. Serve warm
